2019 Volkswagen #Jetta (Execline): REVIEW

Today we’re checking out the all-new
redesigned 2019 Volkswagen Jetta. This is the seventh generation Jetta and it’s
based on the new MQB platform from Volkswagen. In Canada, the Jetta is being
offered with three different trim levels: the Comfortline, Highline, and the
Execline. Today we have the Execline Jetta and we’re taking an in-depth look
at all of its features. Don’t forget to subscribe to see more videos from
Canada’s Largest Automotive Group. Under the hood is a 1.4L turbocharged
four-cylinder engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic
transmission. It makes 147 horsepower and 184
pound-feet of torque. Every line on the new Jetta serves a purpose and that’s
because it was designed to be as aerodynamic as possible. It has a very
clean and polished look. It’s larger and much edgier than its predecessor. The
Jetta that we have here is in Pure White and you can choose from nine
exterior paint color options. The grille is also really bold and larger than it
was last year. It really does stand out. LED headlights and tail lights come
standard on the Jetta for better visibility as well. This Jetta has heated
and power-adjustable side mirrors with integrated turn signals and you also
have the option of going for either the 16″ or the 17″ alloy wheels. And
moving on to the rear, the Jetta has 399 liters of cargo space but you also have
the option of folding down the rear seats if you need more room. Remote start is a really convenient feature and it is available on the Execline with the
automatic transmission only. Let’s get inside and check it out. This is the
Titan Black leather interior with the Sliced Metalbrush trim. The seats in the
Jetta are comfortable and supportive. On this model, you get a six-way power driver
seat with two-way lumbar support. Both front seats are heated and ventilated on
the Execline; you can actually turn both of these on at the same time. This Jetta has the dual-zone automatic climate control. The available Rail 2 Rail sunroof is also a great addition. In the rear you can fold down
the center armrest for access to cupholders and there’s also a pocket on
the front passenger seat. There’s plenty of headroom and legroom back there as
well. The Beats Audio premium audio system is an available option and it
comes with eight speakers and a subwoofer. The audio can be controlled
with the touchscreen infotainment system. The Execline trim has the 8″ Discover Media system and it supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth and, Mirror Link. Behind the steering wheel is the available digital cockpit. It stores
up to three driver profiles plus a guest. It welcomes you by name and resets to your preferences for mirrors, climate settings, and more. VW’s Driver Assistance Package, an additional option, offers adaptive cruise control, autonomous
emergency braking, lane assist, and automatic high-beam control. There’s also
blind spot detection with rear traffic alert and of course you do get a back up
camera with distance markers. The Jetta is a front-wheel drive (FWD) car and the
start/stop technology is standard across all trims. It has four different drive
modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, and Custom. The steering is on the lighter side but it
does make the Jetta easy to drive. This also has Volkswagen’s Cross Differential
System for enhanced performance and the R-Line package on the Highline trim drops the suspension by 15 millimeters. If you are looking for a sportier option that is
something you might want to go for. For fuel consumption, the six-speed
manual gets 7.9L/100KM city and 5.9L/100KM highway. The eight-speed automatic gets 7.8L/100KM city and a 5.9L/100KM highway. The Jetta never fails to impress,
and that’s why it’s always been it’s such a popular option from Volkswagen. We were impressed by just how spacious and just how comfortable it is. Later this
year you can expect to see a package with a heated steering wheel and heated
rear seats but in the meantime we encourage you to stop by your nearest
Dilawri dealership to have a look. Start your journey at Dilawri.ca.
