Just to clarify – In Greece we call underbones “ducks” for a number of reasons… that explains the feathers. We also use them today for the same purpose Honda build the first one, to commute and deliver goods, many times holding them with the left hand… Almost a year ago, new underbones weren’t on sale in Greece because of the enforce of Euro4 regulations Now almost 12 months after that, we’ve reached a point where you can see many new models, some of them with 6 speed gearboxes. Honda alone offers 3 different underbones and this one is the fastest one… Not suitable for delivering goods But it’s the fastest… It’s no good! …but to go fast… NOT CONVINIENT FOR DELIVERING GOODS …and avoid melting your iced coffee How is this a problem? SINCE YOU CAN’D use a tote for coffee? NOT CONVINIENT… NOT CONVINIENT… Let’s go for a ride, let us take all measurements and we’ll see at the end NOT CONVINIENT… Obviously, the GTR150 is not made just to fasten a pizza box on top, Honda has many other models for this purpose. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t do everything with it Also street racing Not only street racing, in many countries they do road racing series with this, even Marquez has ride a GTR150 on a race track even Marquez has ride a GTR150 on a race track Aha, so it’s made for racing (not for delivering goods) Here we go again! Underbones are made for all usages, even those that having normal clutch and 6 speed gearboxes, as the GTR Small and flexible, can make its way through traffic in every situation. We measured 123 kilos fully loaded and that makes it somewhat 40 kilos less, compared to the 150cc scooters! And is more powerful So you agree, they made it for street racing, lets not make it too big of a deal Thats your conclusion? All I’m saying is how easy it is to make your way through city madness. Nothing can stop you. Having a proper clutch won’t reduce your ability to maneuver, instead it will give more control You said it already! Were I’d normally put my isothermal box carrying coffee, now there is a clutch lever. So it’s made for street racing not deliveries If you constantly ride using only one hand, you want be doing this job in the long run… Anyway, if you want race, you’ll have it… Allright, give me the numbers. The real ones! Off course, the real ones, the numbers we got with our VOBX So, we saw an actual max speed of 123,6Km/h but you’re going to see the speedometer reading more than 140km/h while going down on a slope. Sixth gear ratio is small, something that Honda is doing often, and to reach speed limiter level with sixth gear you need to be on a downhill… We saw three seconds for 0-50km/h, which is relevant to a 250cc motorcycle And how about horsepower? We spent quite some time on the dyno. Since this engine comes from the cbr150 and in this smaller space is not breathing as much as it could. We took many measurements with and without the airbox but the differences were not that big. We saw 14,9hp at the end all stock and with no changes on the setup of the bike Perfect, so you change the exhaust muffler and you are set to go for street racing! You simple won’t let it go… Being one of the strongest underbones out there doesn’t mean it’s not suitable for commuting. On the contrary, every one that uses this bike on bigger streets with more lanes, is feeling safer maintaining a more relatively speed with the cars Now have in mind that also the small ratio of the sixth gear helps the engine to stay outside of its red line, and that’s better for longevity Aaa so, stronger engine and better life expectancy, means we but a new muffler and we’re all set for street racing! Hopeless, this is hopeless… By assuming the role of Devil’s advocate, we hope that we now reached a point that we won’t here or read any more comments about having a normal clutch on an underbone motorcycle… thus making our way to staff that matters more On our dyno, the same that measured every model for the last decades, we saw 14,9hp that is almost one horsepower more, from our very first dyno run with a different exhaust that was straggling the engine. That was an earlier version of the model, not for sale, and this is the final version. Although the word final is relevant, since we have the experience of riding in Thailand a motorcycle with the same engine producing more than 20hp. . Thailand is one of the many countries that underbones are kings and this engine has a lot of capabilities and excellent reliability. At least that is the case over there… In order to come to our market a few tweaks are been made here, and an ABS unit from Continental is fitted. A unit that is developed here, especially for the Greek market and actually works quite well. The fact that you can do an endo if you like like is not telling us anything, since blocking the front wheel is not mandatory in order to lift the rear. Obviously you won’t find a rear wheel lift prevention, as you normally would on much expensive motorcycles. On our printed version we have an analytical review after riding it for many kilometers. We load our luggage’s in a proper and not so proper ways, we traveled we visited the racetrack and we have many things to say about it!
