  1. This song reminds me of the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy because I used to listen to it when reading it.

  2. An amazing song with a dark lesson… Once you make a deal with the "dream maker" you don't get to change your mind. Right Brandon?
    Good news? That's a lie.

  3. It started with a low light
Next thing I knew they ripped me from my bed
And then they took my blood type
It left a strange impression in my head
You know that I was hoping
That I could leave this star-crossed world behind
But when they cut me open,
I guess that changed my mind
    And you know I might
Have just flown too far from the floor this time
'Cause they calling me by my name
And the zipping white light beams
    Disregards the bombs and satellites
    That was the turning point
    That was one lonely night
The star maker says, it ain't so bad
The dream maker's going make you mad
The spaceman says, everybody look down
    It's all in your mind
Well now I'm back at home, and
I'm looking forward to this life I live
You know its gonna haunt me
So hesitation to this life I give
You think you might cross over
You're caught between the devil and the deep blue sea
    You better look it over
    Before you make that leap
    And you know I'm fine
But I hear those voices at night sometimes
    They justify my claim
And the public don't dwell my transmission
    Cause it wasn't televised
But, it was the turning point
    Oh what a lonely night
The star maker says, it ain't so bad
The dream maker's going make you mad
The spaceman says, everybody look down
    It's all in your mind
The star maker says, it ain't so bad
The dream maker's going make you mad
The spaceman says, everybody look down
    It's all in your mind
My global position systems are vocally addressed
They say the Nile used to run from east to west
They say the Nile used to run, from east to west
    And you know I'm fine
But I hear those voices at night
    Sometimes
The star maker says, it ain't so bad
The dream maker's going make you mad
The spaceman says, everybody look down
    It's all in your mind
The star maker says, it ain't so bad
The dream maker's going make you mad
The spaceman says, everybody look down
    It's all in your mind
    It's all in my mind
    It's all in my mind

  4. Spaceman

    The Killers

It started with a low light

Next thing I knew they ripped me from my bed

And then they took my blood type

It left a strange impression in my head

You know that I was hoping

That I could leave this star-crossed world behind

But when they cut me open,

I guess that changed my mind

    And you know I might

Have just flown too far from the floor this time

'Cause they calling me by my name

And the zipping white light beams

    Disregards the bombs and satellites

    That was the turning point

    That was one lonely night

The star maker says, it ain't so bad

The dream maker's going make you mad

The spaceman says, everybody look down

    It's all in your mind

Well now I'm back at home, and

I'm looking forward to this life I live

You know its gonna haunt me

So hesitation to this life I give

You think you might cross over

  5. Starmaker, Dremas, Mind, Home, Life, Hesitation, Cross Over, the Voices and their Claim, the Transmission, the Turning Point, the Voices Lie, but he cares no longer for thoughts, he is ok, he is Home.

its a song about a spiritual awakening.

  6. Oh God, I have been listening to this song for ages and only today I've read the lyrics and it's not about Neil Armstrong… ("They say that Neil used to run from east [US coast] to west [US coast]")

  7. I'm glad I got into fallout around the same time I listened to the killers hardcore, good times good memories! Love ya Brandon! Can't wait for the transmission!!!

  8. I come back here every time I feel like just ending it all. Reminds me that there are other people out there, going through the same

  9. Sold your soul to the hedonistic cult in Hollywood eh.?

This song could be about the Harvey Weinsteins and the cover up everyone has to go along with…

    Hollywood sexual abuse.

  10. The songs meaning is so sad
It makes me wanna hug everyone… but I can’t so here is a free internet hug 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
PLEASE WHOEVER IS READING THIS, TAKE CARE OF URSELF, IF U THINK NO ONE CARES, JUST KNOW THIS RANDOM DORKY 14 YEAR OLD GIRL CARES!!!
(I relate to this song, I’ve never attempted suicide but the thought is always in my head, there have been times where I’ve sat at my window wanting to jump, or another time holding pills in my hand wondering if it was worth it. I’m hoping it is, I won’t kill myself until I’ve lost every bit of hope)

  11. No matter what they say, to me this song seems to be about mental illness, specially because of the chorus. (Probably my favorite song ever btw)

  12. This song got me through the most traumatic years of my teenagehood. I might have actually gone through with my suicide attempts if it wasn't for this song holding me back. I can't thank you enough, Killers!

  13. I remember being a 7 years old boy sitting in the back seat of the car, Then suddenly this song starts playing and in that moment my love for the music started whit it
